Africa Interdisciplinary Research Institute (AfIRI) exists as an independent, not-for-profit organization that promotes the collaborative engagement of researchers who are interested in multi- and interdisciplinary research focused on sub-Saharan Africa in particular and Africa as a whole. The community of researchers at AfIRI work both independently and in cooperation with institutes of higher education, scientific societies, and other institutions inside and outside Africa. AfIRI is strongly committed to fostering an environment where innovative researchers from different institutions and countries carry out Africa-related research projects in various disciplines. We manage, support and provide the necessary foundations for Africa-oriented research activities and create a network of African researchers and academics in the diaspora to advance north-south and south-south research collaborations. Other services provided by AfIRI include professional editing, and consultancy for researchers and institutions who engage in research projects related to Africa.
