Viola Karungi obtained her PhD at University of New South Wales, Australia and currently a lecturer at Makerere University, Uganda. Her research focuses on the interdisciplinarity between performance and war looking at the causes, nature and impact of war and conflicts. She has particularly researched on how performance represents and debates trauma and memory resulting from war. She holds a Master of Arts degree in International Performance Research from the University of Warwick, UK, a Master of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary, Multidisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Studies from the University of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia and a Bachelor of Arts in Drama from Makerere University She looks forward to research collaboration in humanities and social sciences.
